Born of a man’s desire to offer a stylish home away from home for diners and hotel visitors alike as well as a focal point for the local community, Jack’s Kitchen is at once a calling point and a home. The name Jack’s Kitchen wasn’t picked at random, Mr. Sampathkumar, the owner always wanted to pay homage to his first employer – Mr. Jack Frogart, who entrusted him in his role 22 years ago and there was no looking back from here on, hence the name.

Although young in comparison to venerable Kingston and the immemorial Thames at the doorstep of Jack’s Kitchen, it remains a perfect place for a getaway, drawing together the finest cuisines and traditions from at home and across the seas to create a menu of the world which is at once timeless & thoroughly modern.

Head Chef – Akshay Sabharwal who has over 26 years of experience and previously worked for renowned Hilton Casinos, prestigious Boutique Hotels; Emirates first class food production, F1-Sylverstone, and has gained some discerning skills from reputable Michelin Starred Chefs has now assembled a skilled team whose passion and flair makes every dish both a journey and a destination.

A broad wine cellar, taking in everything from sought-after prestige bottles to unassumingly delicious table wines has been assembled to accompany and enhance the dining experience. Our knowledgeable Team can guide the curious Cocktail and Whiskey enthusiasts, for which Jack’s Kitchen is quickly becoming famous for among bars in Kingston.


Head Chef – Akshay Sabharwal

Akshay Sabharwal, Head Chef at Jack’s Kitchen, Surbiton has a culinary career spanning 26 years.

Trained in Modern European Cuisine by Michelin Star Chefs, Askhay soon gained a wealth of experience in fine dining and learnt some discerning skills from reputable world class chefs and has now assembled a skilled team whose passion and flair makes every dish both a journey and a destination.

His culinary journey over the past two decades has included a stint as Executive Chef for multi-site operations with Hilton casinos where he was given his first Head Chef position aged just 27. Akshay has also worked with various luxe Boutique Hotels, F1, Emirates First Class fine dining and, most recently, with Caprice Holdings perfecting his skills in working in award-winning multi-site operations.

Chef Sabharwal is passionate about working with the freshest seasonal produce and in particular, sustainable fish to create original dishes. He constantly seeks inspiration through his travel and research and is constantly striving to enhance Jack’s Kitchen’s guests’ overall experience – from the quality food and well paired drinks to the restaurant’s ambience and impeccable service.
